-Wait about 10 minutes to dry.

-Apply a clear nail polish top coat to secure the polish underneath this layer.

How to Adjust to the New Year

4 months ago - 2,969 views
How to Adjust to the New Year
hello, girlies! can you believe it? it's the new year. now, it's almost second nature for us to make new years resolutions, but it can be so difficult. this tip is made for the girls that have a tough time fulfilling all of their resolutions.

first things first, relax! sometimes we make resolutions to get toned like victoria's secret models or we try to become more organized. be realistic and actually think about your goals for the new year.

if you want to become healthier and skinnier, you have to realize it will take time and you need patience. you can't have the bod of miranda kerr in a month.

plan out how you're going to reach your goals. and don't feel bad if you haven't started working out yet etc, it's only been four days into the new year, hahaha. a new year resolution doesn't mean you have to start it ASAP, its a goal you want to venture out into through out the year.

get a calender with things you want to accomplish. also, not all of us made new year resolutions, but who says you can't think of one now? hm, nobody, so nothing can stop you.

if you really didn't have a hardcore goal, then just pray and hope that the new year will be good to you. it's a fresh start, kind of. some of us might be moving, growing up and going out into the world. so, think positive & become more spiritual and open to change. like the old cliche.. new year, new you. it's so true, you will change and you might have to adjust to new things.

try new things for the new year and become a better version of yourself. and strive, dont get up. maybe you won't be ripped and toned by the end of march, but do not give up, girls. keep trying and once you start becoming a better version of yourself (whether if its a prettier, smarter, healthier) one, keep going for it.

make this new year, fantastic.
it's 2013, girls!!!

xoxoxo, ava

Bouncy Curls with a Wand ♥

Bouncy Curls with a Wand ♥
O.1 MATERiALS ♥
+ curling wand
+ hair brush
+ hair clips & dividers
+ heat protectant (optional)
+ hair spray

O.2 iNSTRUCTiONS ♥

hello, girlies! we all want bouncy, beautiful hair that looks like it came right off tumblr or instagram..right? you always wonder how those girls have such effortlessly gorgeous hair. now, its your time to achieve it, lets get ready.

first things first, make sure your hair is clean and washed. you can't get kim kardashian curls if you have greasy, untamed hair. think about it, greasy hair and curls...it's not going to turn out that good.

next, turn your curling wand on and it's time to get that brush out. brush your hair, all over. make sure your hair is neat and not tangled. after that, spray heat protectant around your whole head. i use my john frieda frizz free serum or my tresemme heat creations. spray the heat protectant around your roots and ends. after that, lightly brush your hair again.

almost time to curl! but, before you grab that wand, there is something important you need to do. you need to section your hair with hair clips. i recommend pinning your bangs back and put the top half of your hair in sections with hair clips. you should only have the bottom half down, girls.

since, your bottom half is only down, split it in two sections & start curling from your left or right. i usually start from my left. use your brush again and brush out a section of hair. make sure there arent loose strands. i have thick, long brown hair and i find it much easier to put my hair in sections.

hold your wand from the top but have it facing down. now grab your brushed piece of hair and wrap it around your wand..take your time and make sure the bottom piece is curled as well. now hold for ten-fifteen seconds and slowly let go and toss that curl aside or let it cool and pin it to have longer lasting curls. when i did a professional photoshoot and for my sixteenth birthday thats what the hair stylists did.

please continue and take sections down as you keep going. (tip: dont run your fingers or brush your hair out just yet) when you get to the top of your hair and bang, create loose curls by not wrapping the top part of your hair. start wrapping those pieces of hair from the middle.

after youre finished, unpin your curls (if you did) and spray hair spray. try finding a non-sticky, light weight hairspray, it makes a difference :)

after five-ten minutes (do your makeup or get dressed as youre waiting) brush those curls out and run your fingers through it.

i hope i helped you girls! comment, PM, like and let me know if this tip has helped you :)

love,
ava

Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness
Random acts of kindness♥

Well at my school it's random acts of kindness week, the title is pretty self-explanatory but it's pretty much just being nice and kind to people randomly during the week, which I honestly think shouldn't be just for a week it should FOREVER AND EVER<3 Anyway, sorry I haven't been active lately. So much work to catch up on and exams are right around the corner but i'm trying!

♥Smile

You have no idea what a simple smile can do to a person, it might just brighten up their day that hasn't been going so well. A smile can show that you care and it's just nice since it's another way of saying hello. Plus smiling just makes you feel better and happier.

♥Complements

If you see someone wearing a shirt or shoes or whatever that you like, tell them! Or if they look pretty or their hair looks good then tell them! Don't hold it back, why be shy and hide what you like about the other person? It might just make their day!

♥Notes

For the random acts of kindness week the students got permission to write random cute comments on bathroom mirror and today when I saw there were probably ten or more comments like " You look beautiful!" "You're gorgeous." "Smile :) " etc. Don't do this though because this can count as vandalizing school property without permission but that doesn't mean you can't leave cute comments here and there. You can slip a note in a desk or a shared text book like "have a good day!" "Keep smiling." and such. It's so cute and It will definitely make someone smile.

♥Advice

When one of your friends have a problem or is stressing over something, sit down and listen to them and give appropriate advice. I know when i'm caught in something crazy I sometimes just need a friend to listen to me and say stuff to me that will make me feel better or help me out.

♥Make new friends

Don't just do this this week, you should do this whenever you meet someone new! You can start up a conversation with someone you never took the time to know at your school, you might be surprised how much you guys might have in common! You can start off with a smile, a complement, and just start talking.

Hope you guys liked it!

Barbie Inspired Makeup ♥

Barbie Inspired Makeup ♥
This is my basic, everyday makeup look. But I toned it up a bit for this set to be more Barbie-like c:

O1. Prime + Perfect
First, cleanse. I use the Proactive 3 Step kit, works great! Always start the day with a good wash, toner, and moisturizer!

Start with a good concealer, I use LA Mineral's. It's a translucent powder that covers and looks natural. Lightly cover any imperfections {dark eyes, blemishes, discoloration} Apply in layers until coverage is reached.

I use all LA Minerals for my face, it's basically flawless! Lightly apply one layer of foundation in circular and dabbing motions, repeat until skin it overall perfected. Now, blot with blotting paper to remove all oil from the makeup, you can get them for like $3 at Walmart or a pharmacy.

O2. Highlight + Define
Next, use a translucent powder to highlight your cheek bones, bridge of nose, chin, eyebrows, and forehead.

Take blush (I use Estee Lauder) and a big blush brush, apply in strokes away from your nose on the check bones.

Take a eyebrow pencil, or a eyeliner in your hair color. I use a brown NYC eyeliner, it was like .99 and works great! Draw a straight line throw your eyebrows following the shape. Next, use a small lip brush to blend it in with your natural eyebrows.

O3. Pop + Polish
Use a pinkish purple eyeshadow, apply to the crease and outer edge of your eyelid. Fill in the rest of your eye lid with a pale pink. Take a white or nude eyeshadow from the crease up to your eyebrow, underneath the lash line, and the inner corner of the eye.

Take liquid black eyeliner from the inner corner to a little past the end of your lashes. Use a black eye pencil on the bottom lash line.

You can apply false lashes if you want now. Then coat in a Volumizing Mascara (I use Maybelline)
Apply in layers until your lashes are full and long!

O4. Shine + Smile
Finally, lips! Use a hot pink (I use Estee Lauder) lipstick on your lips. Coat with a pink or clear gloss!

Now smile, cause you look like a Barbie!
